LaTanya: Restoration, Dignity and Breaking Cycles of Pain

Meet LaTanya - S4JR Member:

“I am a woman who has transformed pain into purpose, walking boldly in healing, leadership, and service to others. I’m proud of how far I’ve come, choosing growth, peace, and boundaries even when it wasn’t easy. Through my work in prevention, community impact, and advocacy, I continue to create spaces where others feel seen, heard, and supported.”

I’m a survivor and i stand for restorative and transformative justice because:

“...true healing cannot happen in systems that only punish without restoring. Too often, survivors are met with silence, dismissal, or processes that retraumatize instead of protect. I have experienced and witnessed how traditional systems can overlook the emotional, spiritual, and communal impact of harm.

These justice pathways offer something different, they center accountability, healing, and the humanity of those impacted. They create space for truth to be spoken, for harm to be acknowledged, and for real change to occur.

I believe survivors deserve pathways that honor their voice, their safety, and their healing journey. This is not just about justice, it is about restoration, dignity, and breaking cycles so others don’t have to carry the same pain.”
