Torey: The Criminal Justice System Was Re-Traumatizing
Meet Torey:
I'm a survivor, mom, daughter, wife, athlete, friend, homeopath and ADVOCATE. I do prevention work for my local non-profit that supports survivors and I wrote the book No Big Deal about my childhood sexual assault.
I am a survivor and I stand for restorative/transformative justice…
Because I was "successful" in the criminal justice system, but it was extremely retraumatizing and I am not sure it was all that beneficial to society. We need to heal on all levels and both "sides." Incarceration pours tons of funding into those who did harm. There is a better way.
